HERiTAG project is pleased to report the completion of the 2 weeks summer school training no. 4.5 entitled ‘Photogrammetry for Cultural Heritage Documentation’, organised by the partner Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Faculty of Engineering, Laboratory of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, School of Rural & Surveying Engineering, in cooperation with AUTH School of History and Archaeolog, held on 19-30 June 2017 held in Vergina (week 1) and Thessaloniki (week 2), Greece. The training was organized in synergy between the EU Erasmus+ HERITAG and German Baden-Württemberg supported BWS projects.

The subjects covered by the summer school included documentation of an archaeological Eukleia site through photogrammetry (aerial and close range); laser scanning (terrestrial, mobile and desktop) and remote sensing and are comprehensively reported in the second project brochure, produced in the course of the training.

All training materials in English language, including fieldwork presentations, lecture videos, generated data and other materials are available through project ftp. These materials will be used by participating partners from Armenia and Georgia to develop similar curricular packages for their institutions in the field of photogrammetry in support of cultural heritage documentation. Working meeting at NPUA, Yerevan

Today, the proejct coordinator visited National Polytechnical University of Armenia (NPUA) and had a working meeting with Prof. Ruben Aghgashyan (local coordinator of NPUA), Dr Varazdat Johannisyan (local coordinator for National University of Architecture and Construction) and Dr Amalya Mkhitaryan from NPUA.

At the meeting, participants discussed equipment procurement issue as well as the content and agenda of the forthcoming workshop to be held in Taraz, Kazakhstan.

Project kick-off in Yerevan

The InnoCENS project kick-off meeting took place on 18-21 December 2016 at National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (NUACA). All project partners have sent representatives to the kick-off meeting.


The kick-off meeting started with the project opening ceremony, which was attended by Mr Gagik Galstyan, rector of NUACA, Vice-rector Professor Varges Yedoyan, Ms Lana Karlova from National Erasmus+ Office in Armenia and InnoCENS partner representatives. Meeting agenda and list of participants can be downoaded.

After the opening ceremony, the kick-off meeting had the following main activities:

  • Review of the whole project design by Huaan Fan, Project coordinator
  • Review of main work packages (WP2, WP3/4, WP5) by key project members
  • Planning of project activities in 2017
  • Meeting on financial management and reporting
  • Meeting on project management at parnter countries
  • Visit to laboratories at InnoCENS partner universities, NPUA and NUACA
  • Details of the discussions and decisions made at the project meetings are documented in the meeting minutes which has be sent to all participants in January 2017.
